POETRY BY ME!!

My Heart Beats

(A Loop Poem by Sherry Leclerc)

My heart beats quickened beats

Beats so very loud

Loud enough to be heard

Heard above the crowd.

My heart beats for you

You are my one true love

Love we were gifted

Gifted from above.

We stand here together

Together evermore

Evermore beloved

Beloved and adored.

We Should Have Been

(Lyric Poem by Sherry Leclerc)

I remember the very first time
That I ever saw your face.
You were a haven
In the storm that was this place.

You took my hand and promised me
You’d be my very best friend
That we would be here for
Each other until the very end.

You should have been my very first kiss,
You should have been my first taste of bliss.
We should have been together then,
We should have been, we should have been

When we were children I watched
The sunlight dance upon your face.
We were young but I still knew
We would always have this place.

When we grew older I watched you
First try your hand at love.
We were scared if we looked to each other
We would lose what we built up.

You should have been my very first kiss,
You should have been my first taste of bliss.
We should have been together then,
We should have been, we should have been

It doesn’t matter anymore where
I’ve been or what I’ve been through
All that matters to me now
Is that life has brought me back to you

Hunter

A cinquain by Sherry Leclerc

Hunter
Silent, stealthy
Watching, waiting, stalking.
Calm and steady, patient, ready
Tracker

Unrequited

A Sonnet by Sherry Leclerc

My body trembles at your slightest touch,
My heart starts racing when you look my way,
Your love I want, I need so very much,
What can I do to convince you to stay?

Each thought of you does make my heart take flight,
Just like a seed that floats high in the air.
Just like a brute has hit with all his might,
I lose my breath when you say you don’t care.

But now I know that I should be adored
With fierceness, passion, without any fear.
Unending love should be the true reward
For those whose hearts and souls we hold most dear.

So I accept that I must let you go,
And wait for one whose heart I set aglow.

Where Is Your Joy

A Haiku (5-7-5 Poem) by Sherry Leclerc

Oh, where is your joy,
You who let’s the world float by?
Look up to the sky.

Heart Among Hearts

A Haiku (5-7-5 Poem) by Sherry Leclerc

A heart among hearts
So innocent and giving
Makes life worth living

Lover

A Cinquain by Sherry Leclerc

Lover.
Fervent, intense,
Moving, burning, yearning,
Urgent whispered words of longing,
Amour.
